Recruitment process outsourcing (RPO) means handing some or all of your hiring process to an external partner. It is often misunderstood, so here are the most common myths.
Myth 1: RPO is only for large companies
Large employers use it, but smaller and growing companies can benefit too, especially when they hire in bursts and do not have a full-time recruiter.
Myth 2: You lose control of hiring
A good RPO partner works to your requirements. You still decide who is hired, how roles are described and what the process looks like.
Myth 3: RPO is the same as a staffing agency
A staffing agency supplies candidates or temporary workers for specific roles. RPO takes on the hiring process itself, which can include sourcing, screening, scheduling and reporting.
Myth 4: It will hurt your employer brand
Candidates deal with a team that represents your company. When the partner follows your tone and standards, the experience can be more consistent than an overloaded in-house team can offer.
Myth 5: It is always cheaper
RPO can reduce cost per hire when you hire regularly, but it is not automatic. Compare it against your real cost of recruiters, job boards and time lost to open roles.
